Lead (Senior) Interior Designer

ABA is currently seeking a Lead Project (Senior) Interior Designer to join our firm.  Candidates should demonstrate a proactive ability to take initial direction and execute.  A positive attitude is a must.  We are a strong team and only look to add hard-working, motivated, and personable individuals to our great culture.

Anderson Brulé Architects is a thriving and successful architecture, planning and interior design firm, with over 30 years of experience.  We offer a full line of services in strategic planning, architecture, urban planning and interior design.  Our staff includes architects, planners, interior designers and support personnel, who are trained in team building, project management techniques and quality service delivery.  ABA is committed to assisting clients in improving their own culture, environment, operation, function and organization through the realization of their organizational needs in architectural spaces.  ABA’s projects fall into four markets: educational, civic, medical to custom residential.  The scope of services we offer ranges from pre-project planning through post-occupancy evaluations.

You will be exposed to the daily processes involved in running an architectural/design office which may include:

Business Development

·  Meet with potential clients and has ability to determine client needs, draft fee proposals, and transform leads into project opportunities through proactive sales follow up measures

·  Maintain client relations

Technical

·  Research, feasibility studies and preparation of reports. Responsible for space planning & product specification with adherence to building code and industry standards

·  Collaboration with consultants

·  Detailing and drafting

·  Provide legible Redlines & interpret for correction and/or disbursement to appropriate team member(s)

·  Prepare, correct and update documents during schematic design and design development phases

Design

·  Design presentation - Work with clients to develop design concept and solutions

·  Select finish materials, selection and specification of furniture, lighting, flooring, wall covering and plumbing fixtures, coordinate color and material palettes.  Estimate material requirements and preliminary costs

·  Conduct programming efforts with client’s projects such as space planning, layout and utilization of furnishings and equipment, lighting and color coordination

·  Advanced knowledge of all interior design phases of corporate projects of varying sizes and complexities from conception through construction, Initial programming through construction to final move in

·  Have a working knowledge of techniques, products, and materials used in commercial environments

Practice Leadership

·  Prepare presentation materials, attend meetings, presales and preconstruction walk-throughs as needed and/or requested

·  Attend product knowledge seminars, maintain knowledge of industry trends, products, installation types

·  Solicit construction bids and manages client’s project by subcontracting fabrication, overseeing installation, and arrangement of the materials, finishes, and furnishings required

·  Responsible for keeping the project on budget and on schedule.

·  Responsible for communication with other disciplines, vendors, and contractors to ensure incorporation of all information into project requirements and provides support as necessary.

·  Will provide support/mentoring to all team members for specific field, style, or phase of interior design expertise

Education and experience requirements are:

·  Bachelor's degree in Interior Design from accredited program (certificate will be considered)

·  Prefer NCIDQ or CIT certification, LEED accreditation is desired

·  10+ years of related experience in each of our four markets professionally 

·  10+ years of related experience in preparing comprehensive interior design packages including architectural detailing and knowledge of construction documentation

·  Proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD (Revit skills a plus)

·  Basic knowledge about sustainability, integrated design and LEED guidelines

·  Ability to prioritize work load, multi-task between projects and maintain organization in a changing environment

·  Working knowledge of building codes and other regulatory requirements

·  Advanced knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models

·  Proven ability to meet deadlines, exceed budgetary goals and provide high quality service to clients

·  Excellent oral, written and presentation communication skills
