Job Captain/Architect

Anderson Brulé Architects, a growing architecture, planning and interior design firm, offers a full line of services in strategic planning, architecture, urban planning and interior design. Our staff includes architects, planners, interior designers and support personnel, who are trained in team building, project management techniques and quality service delivery. ABA is committed to assisting clients in improving their own culture, environment, operation, function and organization through the realization of their organizational needs in architectural spaces.

ABA’s projects range from educational, civic, medical to residential. The scope of services we offer ranges from pre-project planning through post-occupancy evaluations.

ABA is currently looking for a Job Captain/Architect to join our firm. Candidates should demonstrate experience in several phases of architectural practice including conceptual design, schematic design, design development, and construction administration with limited supervision.

You should be able to:

· Create contract documents
· Prepare & ensure accuracy of technical documents
· Understand building codes, standards and building structures
· Conduct site surveys
· Perform jurisdictional submittals and interact with jurisdictional personnel

The ideal candidate must have integrity, be highly motivated, have 5-10 years experience, a strong design ability and an interest in being involved in all areas of an architectural practice. Candidate must have a BA/BS in Architecture from a 4/5 year program or a Masters of Architecture. LEED Accreditation is very important. Solid Revit, AutoCAD and Microsoft Office skills are a must. Proficiency in SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite including Photoshop and InDesign are a plus.

Intern - Interior Design

Anderson Brule Architects is a full service architectural and interior design firm based in downtown San Jose, just three blocks from the SJSU campus. Some of our current projects include schools, churches, hospitals and custom residential. We provide services from pre-planning and feasibility studies to interior finish and furniture selection. Our principal owner has built a firm and environment where continued learning, teamwork and thinking outside of the box are regular, if not daily occurrences. Consequently, it’s an ideal environment to learn and fulfill one’s internship requirement.

ABA is looking for an intern who is sharp, creative, reliable, and a self-starter among other things.

You will be exposed to the daily processes involved in running an architectural/design office which may include:

· Resource library updates and organization

· Assisting in client presentations

· Correspondence with materials representatives

· Sample ordering

· Participating with design/architectural teams

· Assisting Designers

· General Office assistance

You should be able to:

· Be responsible, punctual and reliable

· Excellent oral and written communication skills

· Experience with Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp and Adobe Creative Suite

· Have a professional appearance

· Be a team player
